Artificial intelligence, or commonly known as AI, can process huge volume of data and output a concise summary. It can also crunch through thousands of data points and produce a visual that depicts trends and patterns.
Given the power of AI, do you need to pay attention to capturing good data?
The answer is “Yes!” Let me explain why.
The output generated by an AI tool is data-based.
There is a lot of noise in data available on the internet. It is not ideal when accuracy and reliability are important.
When you use your own data, you have a good sense on how relevant, complete, accurate and current the data are. You can gauge the reasonableness of the output generated by AI.
Beware: Garbage in, garbage out.
When you feed irrelevant data or data with lot of errors to an AI model, you end up spending a lot of time verifying the output, which is counterproductive.
When people have little confidence in the output, they won’t use it.
Good data still matters in the AI world.
